SPD@Tampines
SPD@Tampines
With the growth of our programmes and services, we have branched out to set up a new centre in the east. SPD@Tampines provides rehabilitation services and social service to adults and children.
Paediatric Rehabilitation Programme
We help to minimise the risk of developing a long-term disability for children with special needs by providing early support. We support children and youth from birth to 16 years old who are suspected of having, or are diagnosed with a physical or developmental disability. We help children who have delayed growth in the following areas: physical/motor skills, social/emotional skills, adaptive skills, speech and communication skills and cognitive skills.
Programmes available:
- Temasek Cares-Therapy Outreach for Pre-schoolers (TC-TOPPS) (3 to 6 years)
- Continuing Therapy Support (For children 16 years and below)
Specialised Case Management Programme
The Specialised Case Management Programme (SCMP) provides services to people with physical disabilities and their families, to help them adjust to life after disability. The key focus of the SCMP is to ensure that clients have early access to resources and services at the onset of the crisis. Through counselling and case management support, the programme will ensure clients and caregivers receive ongoing support so that they can adapt and adjust to life’s challenges.
Programmes available:
- Case Management and Consultancy
- Counselling and Coaching
- Group/Peer Support and Wellness Programmes
- Caregiver Support and Training
Day Rehabilitation Centre
The Day Rehabilitation Centre aims to complement hospital-based rehabilitation for persons requiring rehabilitative programmes after discharge from the hospital. The programme offers professional physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services to adults with both acquired and congenital disabilities. Through this programme, we aim to maximise the potential of people with physical disabilities so that they can work and live independently.
Programmes available:
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational therapy
- Speech therapy
- Family and caregiver training
- Home environment and assistive device assessment
Therapy@Home
Therapy@Home is a short-term rehabilitation service that provides therapy at the homes of those unable to access the programmes based at the centre, such as to people with multiple disabilities or to the elderly. Supported by National Council of Social Service (NCSS), the service aims to train individuals to achieve optimal independence in their activities of daily living. It also provides training for caregivers to improve in their care-giving skills.
