President’s Social Service Award 2011
It is a tremendous honour for me to receive the President’s Social Service Award 2011 (Individual category) on 2 August 2011 at the Istana.
The President’s Social Service Award is the nation’s most prestigious award for social service volunteerism, conferred by the President of the Republic of Singapore. It honours and recognises outstanding voluntary contributions made to the social service sector and seeks to inspire individuals, groups, and corporations to share their resources, time and expertise to bring about a higher level of community involvement in Singapore.
Conferred for my work with SPD, the Award would not have been possible without your support. Without you, the unsung heroes behind the good work of SPD, there would be no such Award. This honour belongs to every single donor, volunteer, supporter and friend of SPD: you have never failed to respond to our call each time we needed help.
I am both overwhelmed and humbled by the Award, and it is only fitting that this Award be dedicated to you, for believing in SPD’s cause and for walking the road with us all these years.
Thank you, once again, for your support, and I look forward to continuing the SPD journey with you as we move ahead together to break barriers for the disabled, and help them realise their potentials.
Yours sincerely,
Chia Yong Yong (Ms)
President
