Manager
Description:
You will oversee the development and operations of the rehabilitation programmes for children and adults with disabilities in SPD's first regional centre, as well as outreach efforts in the eastern zone.
Requirement:
- Master/Bachelor Degree in Health Science or equivalent
- At least 8 years of relevant experience
- Supervisory, centre/programme management and evaluation experience is required
Paediatric Rehabilitation
Learning Support Educators (Outreach Programme for Pre-Schoolers)
Description:
As the pioneer batch of teachers of this outreach programme, you will play an instrumental role in
- administering standardised assessment tests and drawing IEPs
- providing support services to children with developmental needs (speech/ language delays, learning difficulties and behavioural-related issues)
- providing resource support and consultation to teachers in mainstream pre-schools.
Requirement:
- Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention or
- Degree/ Diploma in Early Childhood/ Preschool Teaching including practicum or
- Degree/ Diploma in Special Education including practicum
- At least 3 years of mainstream preschool teaching experience and/or teaching experience with young children with developmental needs
- Senior teachers with supervisory or management experience will be an advantage.
Educational / Clinical Psychologist
Description:
You will administer standardised assessment tests to identify the individual developmental needs (learning difficulties and behavioural-related issues) of young children and to provide intervention support as part of a trans-disciplinary team of professionals in an Early Intervention Centre or Outreach Programmes for Pre-Schoolers.
Requirements:
- Master Degree/Degree in Educational Psychology, Child Psychology, School Psychology or Clinical Psychology including practicum
- Working experience with young children with developmental needs will be an advantage.
Senior Occupational Therapist/Occupational Therapist
Senior Physiotherapist/Physiotherapist
Senior Speech Therapist/Speech Therapist
Description:
You will assess and identify the needs of individual clients to implement appropriate therapy programmes and be part of the trans-disciplinary team of professionals providing rehabilitative treatment to the clients.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Master or Degree in Physiotherapy
- Master or Degree in Speech Therapy from an internationally recognized programme
- Eligible for registration as Therapist under the Allied Health Professions Act 2011
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in local languages will be an advantage.
- Applicants for the position of Senior Therapist should have at least 5 years of relevant working experience, including one year of clinical supervision.
- Senior therapists with experience in management and multi-agency collaboration will be an advantage.
Social Worker
Description:
You will be responsible for the delivery of psycho-social services to young children with developmental needs and their families while working closely with other multi-disciplinary professionals to achieve holistic care for clients. You may be required to conduct training and psycho-educational workshops for parents and caregivers.
Requirements:
- Masters/Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Counselling
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary across functional teams
- Those with working experience in the special needs/pre-school programmes will be advantageous
Vocational Training
IT Trainer (SPED)
Description:
- Develop and deliver IT training programmes
- Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on training activities
- Prepare materials for class activities
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress
- Prepare objectives and outlines for courses, following curriculum guidelines or requirements
- Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of training programmes
Requirements:
- ACTA certification preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Trainer or teacher with experience in working with primary/secondary schools students or SPED schools
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organisational skills
- Pro-active, pleasant and friendly personality with an eye for detail
- Passionate in work related to the development of persons with disabilities
Specialised Assistive Technology Centre
Occupational Therapist
Description:
You will work together with a team of Assistive Technology Professionals to provide assessment, training and technical assistance to clients seeking consultation on assistive technology in the area of computer access, augmentative communication, powered mobility and environmental control. You are also required to make recommendations to the clients, conduct training workshops and public education presentations, network with hospitals, educational institutions, and equipment suppliers for equipment trial opportunities, and to assist in the research and development of AT devices.
Requirements:
- Recognised degree/diploma in occupational therapy with at least 3 to 5 years of clinical experience
- Good computer knowledge with strong interest in technology
- Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in local dialects
- Members of the Singapore Association for Occupational Therapists preferred
Day Activity Centre
Training Officer
Description:
- Train and assist clients in activities of daily living, community living, leisure and pre-vocational skills
- Be responsible for the safety and well-being of clients
- Perform administrative duties such as planning weekly activities, updating client's progresses etc
- Provide assistance to the therapist in the implementation of therapy treatments
Requirements:
- Minimum GCE 'O' Levels or equivalent
- Therapy assistant certificate or relevant experience would be an advantage
- Team player as well as an independent worker
- Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Office
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to commit for 4 months
