Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology (AT) is the application of technology to help people with physical disabilities overcome the limitation of their disabilities so as to enable them to perform activities of daily living. On 1 January 2005, the National Council of Social Service appointed SPD's Assistive Technology Centre as the Specialised Assistive Technology Centre for people with physical disabilities.
The Specialised ATC provides the following services:
- Assessment
- Training on use of devices
- Trial⁄loan of devices from AT Loan Library
- School⁄work area assessment
- Technical support
- Sales co-ordination support
- Project AT for ALL
Appointment
The Specialised ATC is open from Mondays to Fridays, 8.30am to 5.30pm. Consultation is by appointment only.
Types of Assessments:
FastTrack Assessment is suitable for cases which are simple that require only one-off assessment and training.
Regular Assessment is suitable for cases which require 3 follow-up training sessions.
Extensive Assessment is suitable for complex cases which require 8 or more training sessions.
Onsite Assessment is suitable for cases which require one specialists to conduct assessments at the homes of the person with disabilities.

For non-Singaporeans, the fee per session is $120.
