Education Programme
Bursary
The SPD Bursary Award is given to students from low-income families studying in mainstream schools. Students must be physically disabled or have parent(s) with physical disabilities. The aim of the programme is to provide the students with a level playing field in education. The quantum of the grant ranges from $300 per year for primary level to $6,000 per year for university level.
Applications open in September each year. Successful applicants will receive the grant at the beginning of the next academic year.

Professional social workers provide counseling and help to students with physical disabilities and their families by looking into their social, financial and rehabilitation needs to students with physical disabilities and their families.
Social workers will help to advocate and coordinate specialised services of SPD (such as paediatric rehabilitation, assistive technology and learning & development programmes ) that are required by students. Befriending and mentoring services are available for students with physical disability.
