IT Apprenticeship Programme
The IT Apprenticeship Programme (ITAP) serves to bridge the gap between training and employment for people with disabilities. We provide on-the-job training and structured courses to equip trainees with the necessary skills set for employment.
Our Training Philosophy
Through close partnership with industry players, ITAP provides training that is realistic, application-based and industry-relevant. Trainees develop relevant work competencies necessary for their employment through scenario-based modules, commercial projects, internship placements, structured courses and personal development.
Flexible Training Programme
ITAP’s flexible training plan allows trainees to pace their learning according to their comfort level. Our training sessions are as follows:
- Half day (am) 8.30am to 12.30pm
- Half day (pm) 1.30pm to 5.30pm
- Full day 8.30am to 5.30pm
Transport
A free shuttle service for trainees is available from Tiong Bahru MRT Station to SPD Ability Centre. Our vehicles are equipped with hydraulic lifts suitable for wheelchair users.
A chargeable door-to-door service can also be arranged subject to availability. Please contact us for more details.
Eligibility
To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Have received primary education
- Be conversant in English with basic literacy
- Have a permanent disability (including physical/developmental/visual/hearing impairment)
- Be 16 years of age or above
Eligible applicants will be required to attend an interview where we will evaluate their suitability for the programme as well as assist them in selecting their apprenticeship track.
