Therapy Services
The SPD-Singapore Power Rehabilitation Centre offers a range of programmes and services to meet the varying needs of our patients.
Areas we serve in include patients with neurological, orthopaedic, medical and surgical conditions, and patients who require electrotherapy and exercise therapy to complement drug therapy and medication prescribed by physicians. We also cater to those with congenital disabilities, among other areas.
Physiotherapy Services
- Balance training

- Joint range of motion, strengthening and endurance
- Pain Management
- Patient and caregivers training
Occupational Therapy Services
- Upper limbs strengthening and fine motor coordination
- Cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation
- Activities of daily living and home management
- Home modifications
- Recommendation and training in the use of adaptive equipment
- Training for patients and caregivers
Stroke Rehabilitation Programme
The Stroke Programme aims to:
- Enable patients to achieve as much functional independence as possible in activities of daily living such as bed mobility and transfers, climbing of stairs, feeding and grooming
- Help patients regain normal movements of affected limbs
- Provide advice on assistive aids such as orthoses (artificial supports and braces), walking aids, adaptive spoons etc.
- Give support to stroke survivors and their caregivers through education, training and social activities

- Two-way accessible transportation with stair crawl facility
- Fitness Therapy
- Counselling, social and welfare programmes for patients and caregivers
- Technical aid loan

Fees and Transport
Affordable fees are charged for services at the SPD-Singapore Power Rehabilitation Centre. Subsidies may be granted to patients who meet with the eligibility criteria.
SPD provides an affordable and reliable transportation service with its fleet of speciallyadapted vehicles for those who have difficulty using public transport. Staircrawl facilities are available to bring patients from nonlift landing to the ground floor. This service is open to beneficiaries coming to and from the SPD Ability Centre and their homes. Fees are chargeable
