- Fine motor skills – handwriting, eye-hand co-ordination
- Communication skills – articulation, expressive and receptive language, voice quality, fluency
- Cognitive skills – perception, attention and focusing, listening

- Self-care – eating, drinking, toileting, dressing
- Others – oral-motor functions, reading, writing, play, behaviour
Programmes & Services
Early Intervention Program for Infants and Children (EIPIC)
(6 years old and below)
A centre-based programme that provides psycho-social, educational and therapy services for children diagnosed to be at risk of having a disabling condition or special need that will affect their overall development.
Providing Access to Early Support (PACES)
(3 to 6 years old)
In PACES, our team of professionals work with children with mild learning difficulties within the mainstream pre-school he/she attends. The aim of the programme is to improve the child’s readiness for formal education by helping him/her develop socialisation and classroom participation skills. Professional support is also given to pre-school operators, teachers and parents to better equip them with skills to meet the special needs of the children under their care.
Continuing Therapy
(16 years old and below)
Centre-based speech and occupational therapy services complement the therapy services the child receives in his/her EIPIC or special school setting. This programme also supports children who attend mainstream schools but who require on-going therapy services to improve in functional and academic performances.
We welcome referrals from:
- Hospitals
- Special schools and integrated childcare centres
- Health care professionals
- Social workers
- Parents and caregivers
- Childcare centres and kindergartens
In addition to our therapy services, SPD puts strong emphasis on encouraging parents to place their children in appropriate school settings (e.g. Special Schools, Integrated Childcare Centres or mainstream schools).
Special arrangements can also be made for consultation with assistive technology specialists, social workers or any other professional service provider.
Fees and Transport
Rehabilitation fees are charged based on household income and affordability.
Subsidies may be granted based on family income, and are considered on a case-by-case basis.
There will be an additional transport fee payable if transport service is required
