SPD Therapy Hub
The SPD Therapy Hub started from an awareness of the growing need for step down rehabilitation and community-based therapy services in Singapore.
Having begun operations from January 2005, the SPD Therapy Hub is piloted and developed jointly between the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD) and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), with support from the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports.
What is the Therapy Hub?
The SPD Therapy Hub is a provider of rehabilitation services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy for VWOs serving children with special needs, the elderly and the disabled. The SPD Therapy Hub recruits, supervises and manages a pool of qualified therapists to provide these services to the clients/residents at day rehabilitation centres, day care centres, elderly nursing homes, special schools, early intervention programmes and any other service provision setting for people with disabilities and/or the elderly. The therapists are assigned on a contractual basis to VWOs interested in engaging quality rehab services for their clients/residents.
What are the benefits of engaging the services of the SPD Therapy Hub?
The SPD Therapy Hub employs highly qualified therapists who are recognised through their membership with the Singapore Physiotherapy Association (SPA), Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists (SAOT) and Speech Language and Hearing Association Singapore (SHAS). These therapists provide high quality, outcome based services for your all patients.
Recruitment, training and development of therapists is the responsibility of the SPD Therapy Hub. This programme provides supervision, feedback, and support to the therapists which helps to further develop, motivate and nurture them. As our high standard is maintained and quality staff retained, centres which engaging services can be assured of consistent, excellent service from our pool of therapists for their clients.
The SPD Therapy Hub is a cost effective approach to providing quality rehabilitation services for your residents/clients. Our comprehensive service includes direct patient care, complete documentation of services, development of individualised care plans, regular reviews and updates of care plans, and professional supervision of therapy staff.
Interruptions in the provision of therapy caused by therapists going on extended leave will be minimised by the provision of replacement therapists, ensuring continuity of care and services provided by qualified therapists.
