63 Children Progressed to SPED and Mainstream Schools. A fun-filled day with songs, dances and activities to celebrate the completion of their EIPIC journey.

“The performances were wonderful. SPD has given my child an opportunity to perform on stage and helped him build up his confidence to perform in front of a crowd. I was so happy to see him up on stage and I never knew he was so courageous. It was a moment I am ever so proud of. Thank you SPD and the sponsors for making it happen,” said Mdm Ong Siew Wat, whose 6-year-old son Adrian Seow, performed at SPD’s Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC) graduation ceremony on 23 November 2017.

The annual event was held at Methodist Girls’ School to celebrate the completion of their EIPIC journey.

Sponsored by UOB, the graduation ceremony was attended by over 300 clients and their families from all four Building Bridges EIPIC Centres. More than 30 UOB staff also volunteered to help out with the logistics and setting up of the event. Ms Stella Claire Wee, whose child also graduated from EIPIC, helped to co-host the event with Siti Madinah, a social worker.

As part of the event programme, the graduating cohort sang, danced and put up a musical performance with instruments that had been adapted and modified by the MOD Squad volunteers from DSO National Laboratories. It was the first combined performance by the four Building Bridges EIPIC Centres.

Activities such as face painting, balloon sculpting, and games were organised for the children and their family members. A mug was also given to caregivers as a token of appreciation for walking this journey with the team.
