SINGAPORE, 21 November 2022 – Close to 130 golfers gathered at the Orchid Country Club on 18 November for the SPD Charity Golf 2022, raising $250,200 for persons with disabilities.

Guest-of-Honour Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Transport and Minister-in-Charge of Trade Relations, graced the occasion.

The funds raised from the tournament will go towards supporting children with developmental needs that local disability charity SPD serves. With over 20 programmes and services such as rehabilitation, assistive technology, and early intervention, SPD has been making an impact in the lives of people with disabilities for the last 58 years.

“It is our pleasure to host so many donors and sponsors at our Charity Golf event last Friday, whose generous support will provide tremendous help for children and their caregivers seeking timely early intervention support. Giving these children an early head start is important in ensuring greater success in their integration into mainstream education,” said Mr Abhimanyau Pal, Chief Executive Officer, SPD.

“We welcome new donors who come on board to support this fundraiser and are grateful to the past donors who continue to believe in our cause and gave us the confidence to organise this event annually,” he added.
