Occupational therapists (OTs) dedicate themselves to improving the lives of people. Many demonstrate an immense loyalty and pride for their profession that make them stand apart from those from other fields.

The first Occupational Therapy Day was held in 2010 and since then, a day is set aside each year by OTs the world over to promote and celebrate the profession internationally. For Singapore this year, OT Day falls on 11 January.

SPD’s OTs will celebrate the occasion by organising a small but fun and meaningful educational fair to take place from 9 to 14 January at SPD’s four centres. Adopting the theme ‘Celebrating Diversity, Advancing in Unity’, booths will be set up where participants can complete special tasks that allow them to experience what OTs do in their daily work as well as expose them to the challenges people with special needs face. Participants also get to know SPD’s OTs.

We take this opportunity to wish OTs in SPD and all over the world a very happy OT Day!
