Although the sound of music has changed and modernised with time, it still remains the most beautiful form of communication which transcends languages and barriers.

Organised by the Beautiful Mind Charity (BMC) for the third year running, the ‘2014 Beautiful Mind, Beautiful Concert – Beginning of Another Miracle’ that was held at the SOTA Concert Hall on 19 April 2014 was an inspiring event which showcased the musical talents of the performers from Beautiful Mind Charity Korea and the Beautiful Mind Music Academy (BMMA).

We were very proud of our SPD Aspiration Award 2014 winner Samuel Lim and SPD beneficiary Zhang Pei Shan who were both invited to perform alongside the Beautiful Mind Charity ensemble. The two youngsters performed brilliantly on the piano at their respective segments.

Samuel, 14, lost his ability to speak like everyone following an incident which permanently damaged his tongue, throat and vocal chords when he was three months old. Pei Shan, who is a year older, has a yet-to-be diagnosed medical condition that leaves her trapped in a baby’s body. They were part of the BMMA which was a free music education programme by BMC which provides potential artists with disabilities with training in musical instruments by professional musicians over a period of two semesters every year, each semester consisting of 12 lessons.

We would like to offer our heartiest congratulations to BMC for yet another successful concert and to thank them for choosing SPD as one of the beneficiaries of the concert for the second year running.
