SPD Ability Fun Walk

Even as Singapore continues to modify its built environment to reduce physical barriers and strive to become a more inclusive society, there are still people with disabilities and special needs among us who may not be included in community activities.

The inaugural SPD Ability Fun Walk presents an opportunity for everyone of different abilities to walk together. It also serves to promote inclusion and raise funds for programmes and services that SPD provides to help more people with disabilities integrate into the community. A carnival awaits all after the 3km-walk where there will be food as well as games that will allow participants to know a bit more about disability issues.

“Count Me In” – A Classical and Crossover Concert

To be held at the Capitol Theatre, the “Count Me In” Concert 2016 promises a fusion of traditional Chinese music coupled with popular Broadway and Western classical crossover numbers. A concert not to be missed, it is bound to bring a whole new experience to avid music lovers.

The concert will feature the lauded Singapore Chinese Orchestra, directed by leading music director, Tsung Yeh. Singapore’s very own young vocalist, Lauren Yeo, who held her own sold-out solo concert at the Esplanade at the age of 9 and has performed in Carnegie Hall, will be making her appearance at the concert too. Also sharing the stage will be Samuel Lim, SPD’s Youth Aspiration Award recipient, who will perform solo on the guzheng.
