We operate the Day Activity Centre (DAC) for people with physical and multiple disabilities to nurture their self-help skills through a balanced and structured programme that focuses on social and recreational activities of daily living. At the same time, caregivers and family members get the respite they need and some can choose to continue working without having to worry about the care of their disabled loved ones.

Since mid-2018, we have expanded our enrolment at the DAC to serve adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Admission
Admission is open to all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents 18 years old and above who

  • have disabilities pertaining to a physical, sensory, intellectual, or developmental nature, or a combination of the list;
  • are free from infectious diseases.

All admissions must be medically certified by a qualified doctor confirming the applicant’s condition and must have met the basic admission criteria listed above.

Programme fees are chargeable. Subsidies may be granted based on family income and are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Transport
We provide transport for DAC beneficiaries via a fleet of specially-adapted vehicles, to and from the SPD Ability Centre and their homes. Fees apply.
