This interactive workshop will give participants information on how to make Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) accessible to all families and people who use AAC. Participants will get the opportunity to make ‘chat books’ (low tech) and overlays for high tech devices to meet the communication needs of AAC users. Different types of techniques, AAC modes and strategies for building up communication competence will be discussed.

Who should attend this course?

Therapists, teachers, social Workers, training officers, therapy assistants, caregivers and parents of AAC users.

About the speaker:

Dr. Sudha Kaul, Executive Director and founding member of the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Kolkota India. She has a PhD in AAC from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. She has many years of experience in AAC and has published and presented numerous papers in this area. She is currently President-Elect and a fellow of the International Society for the Augmentative and Alternative Communication.
