The physically disabled trainees at SPD are once again offering a free e-filing service to help cabbies with their income tax returns. Piloted in 2004 and fully staffed by people with disabilities, the service not only makes income tax filing easier for taxi drivers, it also shows that physically disabled people are able to serve and be contributing members of the community.
The service is provided free to taxi drivers as a goodwill gesture. However, donations are welcome and this will be tax-exempted. Cabbies need to bring along their IRAS PIN Mailer or Form B, all documents to support their income, expenses and claims, and the BC/NRIC numbers of grandparents, parents, spouse and/or children.
