Participants will be introduced to a range of high tech and low tech AAC systems. Case studies will be used to illustrate how the principles of AAC can be practically applied. Opportunities for hands-on learning experiences with the AAC systems will also be provided. At the end of the course, participants will leave with a customised Communication Board that they can use to practice their newly learnt strategies.

Who should attend

 Special education teachers,

 teacher-aides,

 therapists,

 caregivers and

 other professionals working with learners and other individuals with Complex Communication Needs who may need AAC

Participants will have the opportunity to:

o participate in hands-on experiential learning time to explore the AT devices

o exchange ideas on real-life case studies in small group discussions

o engage in professional networking
