E-mails and instant messaging platforms have made greetings on birthdays or festive occasions so much easier, but here are some reasons why we think sending out printed greeting cards is still cool.

i) A Surprise in the Mail Box
Nowadays, whenever we open the letter box, we would usually be bombarded with advertisements and flyers, or even worse, the dreaded bills.

Imagine receiving an envelope with just your name and address scribbled lovingly by hand on it. That moment would surely put a smile on anybody’s face and brighten their day.

ii) Show of Concern
Admit it, the e-greetings that we sent were probably have been sent to us by someone else. And that someone else who sent you would likely have received his from another person. And the list goes on. We sometimes forward such greetings with little thought other than to soothe our conscience of keeping contact. However, knowing that the card sender had taken time to trot down to the store, picked a card, mulled over the message, bought a stamp (when was the last time we were at the post office to get stamps anyway?), stuck it on the envelope and dropped it into the mail box; now that is effort and it definitely shows how important and loved the recipient is.

iii)  Keeping the Tradition
With the advancement of technology, many traditions have been made redundant or have made way for more convenience. Sending greeting cards is one of the easiest and most meaningful traditions to keep.

iv) Show of Support for People with Disabilities
SPD’s cards are designed and created by people with disabilities. This also means that with every card purchased, you will be showing your support towards enabling people with disabilities towards becoming self-reliant and independent.
