The Korean Chamber of Commerce (KOCHAM) held its Charity Golf and Dinner for the 10th year running on Thursday, 7 September at the Singapore Island Country Club, raising more than $30,000 for SPD, the sole beneficiary of this event.

Over the years, the esteemed organisation, which has contributed significantly to national economic growth and development, is a huge supporter of SPD.

In her speech at the dinner, Ms Chia Yong Yong, President of SPD, thanked KOCHAM for their generous support. With their support and those of many other kind sponsors, SPD is able to carry on providing therapy services, early intervention support, employment and training opportunities, as well as many other services to help people with disabilities to be as independent and self-reliant as they can.

“We are deeply grateful to the Korean community for the exemplary role it is playing internationally, reaching out to the disadvantaged wherever they are. On our part, SPD hopes to be able to work in partnership with corporations such as KOCHAM and to look beyond just supporting our cause to also add value to their organisational objectives,”

said Ms Chia.

This is the 4th year that KOCHAM has been giving its support to SPD. So far, the organisation has donated over $102,000 to SPD through this annual fundraiser.
