The serenity and spectacular views at Labrador Park provided the perfect backdrop for Kowloon Club’s Labrador Nature Reserve Charity Walk on the Saturday morning of 20 April.

Organised to raise funds for SPD, the walk in the 2.1km long park along the southern coast of Singapore offered an opportunity for club members to interact and socialise with the 20 SPD clients who were invited to the event.

The success of last year’s charity walk at Punggol Park had encouraged the club to organise another charity walk for SPD this year.

Close to $22,000 was raised from the charity walk this year which also included contributions from the President’s personal events. Mr Philip Chan, President of Kowloon Club, had suggested that family and friends donate a ‘red packet’ to SPD instead of buying him gifts at his 49th birthday celebration and 22nd wedding anniversary in April.

Kowloon Club is a long-term partner of SPD. The group consisting of emigrants from Hong Kong has extended assistance to the less fortunate in their new home through a myriad of regular events and activities.
