Mr Zhang Weijie has been a member of SPD’s Board since 2016. He is currently the Senior Director (Digital Economy Office) and Director, Industry (National AI Group) at the Ministry of Digital Development & Information. In these roles, he develops strategies to support the digital economy, by building future-ready infrastructure and spurring technology adoption by enterprises and the workforce.
Mr Zhang has served in various public sector roles across the Singapore government, and has worked on policies in the areas of sustainability and climate change, technology and innovation, as well as education, community and grassroots services.
Mr Zhang is a member of the School Advisory Committee of Xinghua Primary School. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University and has a Masters in International Policy Studies from Stanford University. He has cycled twice across the United States to support the fight against cancer.
