Closely-knitted staff is the foundation of a strong and sturdy organisation as they are likely to perform better from their commitment to attaining group goals. With that in mind, 206 SPD staff gathered at the SPD Ability Centre for a day of bonding on 24 July.

While it was the first time that staff from SPD’s newest centre, SPD@Toa Payoh, joined in the organised activities along with the rest of the staff, the unfamiliarity dissolved almost as soon as the activities started.

Everyone got the chance to introduce themselves with the help of Lego bricks which they personalised. Using bricks of different shapes and sizes, the staff, broken up into teams, were also tasked to describe what SPD meant to them.

The result at the end of the session was a colourful 3D collage that was put together using all the Lego bricks that the staff had worked on individually and in their teams. It was all the more meaningful knowing that it was the product of the different personalities of each and every SPD staff as well as their hopes and dreams for the organisation.

The day ended with the grand unveil of SPD’s new name and logo by executive director Mr Abhimanyau Pal.
