SPD turned half of the 18-hole golf course at Raffles Country Club into an interesting obstacle course for 112 golfers who turned up to support our second charity golf tournament on 21 April.

A total of $300,000 was raised with the strong support of the business community and volunteers, including Emeritus Senior Minister Mr Goh Chok Tong who graced the event as our Guest-of-Honour.

We look back on some of the novelty challenges that took place on the green that day.

By completing some of these challenges, the golfers also helped to raise more funds for people with disabilities through the money pledged by supporting partners.

We were happy to have had young soprano soloist Lauren Yeo start the dinner with two song performances at the after-game dinner.

Ms Janetta Tan, a mouth-painting enthusiast who previously received support from SPD’s Transition Programme for Employment, presented Mr Goh with one of her canvas paintings which took months to complete as a token of appreciation for his support of people with disabilities.

We thank the Organising Committee, helmed by Dr Janice Khoo and her team comprising Ms Cheong Yoke Keng, Mr Joe Dorai, Ms Maureen Goh, Mr Alvin Seck, Mr Yeo Teck Guan, and the SPD Fundraising Committee Chairman Mr Tan Soo Nan, for their efforts in organising the successful fundraiser
