MEDIA RELEASE
SOCIETAL AND SPD PARTNER ONCE AGAIN TO HELP ‘UNLABEL’ PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
SINGAPORE, 2 December 2021 – For the second consecutive year, Singapore-based charity SPD has teamed up with local creative agency Societal to produce the next round of work in the “UNLABEL” campaign to support people with disabilities.
The ads in the new campaign directly confront people’s tendency to see people with disabilities as being different—when we’re ALL different in our own ways. Using mostly street-cast talent and shot by Dominic Phua through Studio Daydream, the ads are appearing in large formats at SMRT stations and in two large lightboxes at Raffles Place—all spaces kindly sponsored by SMRT.
Kevin Geeves, Societal’s Founder and Executive Creative Director says: “It’s a privilege to work with SPD once again. The message is an important one, and we’re delighted we were able to contribute to bringing it to a wider audience.”
SPD’s CEO, Mr Abhimanyau Pal, added the following: “Social acceptance is crucial in the integration of persons with disabilities into society. There is much to be done for public education at different levels—in schools, at the workplace and within the community. Through UNLABEL, we hope to break down social barriers among persons with and without disabilities. We are once again happy to partner Societal in reinforcing that message. Through this effort, we hope to pave the way for greater inclusion of people with disabilities in our society.”
