SPD’s executive director Mr Abhimanyau Pal kicked off this year’s Organisation Excellence Day at the MDIS campus auditorium on 31 March by sharing SPD’s journey over the past one year and launching Vision 2020 which will guide us in our client-centric approach and creating sustainable resources.

We were honoured to have deputy CEO of the National Council for Social Service Mr Fermin Diez and director for the disability division of the Ministry of Social and Family Development Ms Fatima Mustafa share with us the developments in the social service landscape. They were also invited to join our Board member Ms Ong Toon Hui and Mr Pal in a panel to answer queries from staff on matters ranging from professional development, to caregiver support and funding for SPD.

The past financial year’s key achievements of SPD’s six divisions, namely the Adult & Elderly Services Division, Children Services Division, Inclusion Advancement Division, Community Partnerships Division, Corporate Services Division and the Organisational Development Division, were shared along with goals for the year ahead.

Long serving staff were also honoured at the event.

The event also saw SPD’s first Service Excellence Award recipients duly recognised. Admin co-ordinator from the Corporate Services Division Lena Ang…

… and programme executive for the Transition Programme for Employment Jessica Luo were exemplary role models who put the interests of others before theirs and went beyond their call of duty to support clients as well as colleagues.

Congratulations to Lena and Jessica!

The event came to a close with staff pledging their commitment to create a better SPD as we push for excellence with Vision 2020.
