Identified as a one of the prioritised groups to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, our staff have been encouraged to sign up for the vaccination so that we can play our part in keeping our clients, caregivers as well as our colleagues and our loved ones safe.  Our staff have responded positively to the call and several direct service staff as well as backend support personnel have taken the first dose of the vaccine in the last two weeks, and more have scheduled their appointments in the coming weeks. This is what some of them have to say on opting to be vaccinated and sharing their experience.

“I’ve joined the rest of our SPD staff in getting vaccinated to protect ourselves and everyone around us. I’m glad that the experience was as painless as most people say it is. Am looking forward to a safer Singapore over time.” – Abhimanyau Pal, CEO

“I opted to take the COVID-19 vaccine even though I am not a front facing staff. On my part, I feel this is the least I can do to contribute as a socially responsible citizen and help keep everyone around me safe.” – Adeline Tan, Senior Executive, Resource Development

” I took the COVID-19 vaccine as it protects me and the people around me! How about you? Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.” – Agnes Chai (left), Admin Executive, SPD Rehabilitation Centre

“I opted to take the vaccination because I believe many countries may make it mandatory for visitors to be vaccinated once we are able to travel again. I look forward to the time we are able to meet our overseas relatives again.” – Glen Seet (in foreground), Senior Social Worker

“Like many people, I was hesitant at first. However, when I think about the clients that we are serving and the young and elderly around me, I decided to take the vaccine so that I can protect them. I am glad that I did my part.” – Seah Phey San, Senior Teacher, SPD@Jurong

“As I work in the elderly care sector, I decided to take the COVID 19 vaccine to protect not only myself but most importantly, our clients. I have not experienced any severe adverse reactions.  Go for it.  For you, your loved ones and for the whole community.” – Guo Ruimin, Registered Nurse, SPD@Toa Payoh

“I was very happy to be able to schedule my vaccination appointment on the very next day after receiving the code.  The process was well organised with short waiting periods between registration, screening, and jab. The injection was given quickly and with little pain.  There was a 30-min wait after the jab for observation.  I just had a bit of muscle ache at the site of the injection for 1-2 days. Overall, I was pleased that everything went so smoothly.” – Debbie Chow, Senior Assistant Director, SPD Therapy Hub
