Dr Ng was a member of SPD’s Board of Management from 2013 to 2022. He is currently the Senior Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at the Singapore General Hospital and at Sengkang Hospital. He is also Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Dean, Student Affairs at Duke-NUS Medical School.
Dr Ng is active in research and has published widely in both Rehabilitation Medicine and General Medicine and received national level grant funding from NMRC and NRF. He is Senior Research Scientist at the Geriatric Education and Research Institute (GERI), Singapore and the Centre for Population Health Research and Implementation (CPHRI). His areas of specialist and research interests include rehabilitation epidemiology, spasticity, neurological rehabilitation as well as the use of technology in disability. He is also appointed as Senior Consultant (PTPS) and Medical Expert Lead in the Ministry of Health where he co-leads the National One-Rehab Initiative.
Finally, Dr Ng is involved in several disability and rehabilitation support groups and advocates strongly for improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in society through rehabilitation and education
