Ms Becky Hoo

Director, Children Services

Becky joined SPD in September 2015, and as Director of Children Services, she provides leadership and directions to the division, and also oversees the operation of the Early Intervention Programmes for Children and Infants (EIPIC), Development Support and Learning Support (DSLS) and Continuing Therapy Programmes (CTP) at four centres. She leads her team in initiatives to enhance service quality, as well as actively promote caregiver and community engagement to support children with developmental needs. She advocates the use of technology in the division to improve the efficiency of work processes and her teams have won awards in the use of technology to engage caregivers.

Becky has more than 20 years of experience in the social service sector and was involved in portfolios spanning eldercare, disability, mental health, children, youth and family sectors while at the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). There, she had overseen service pioneering, planning, implementation, management, strategy and standards initiatives.

She led the development and implementation of outcome and evaluation measures for the social service sector and was involved in the development of the national system for reporting of output and outcomes achievement for the Ministry of Social & Family Development and NCSS funded programmes.

Becky holds a Bachelor of Science (Econs) in Management Studies from University of London, and also graduated from the Asia International Executive Programme and Essentials of Policy Development Programme offered by INSEAD and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy respectively.
