Ms Joyce Wong

Joyce joined SPD in November 2005 and is currently the Director for Centralised Services as well as the CEO Office. She plays an instrumental role in these functions, setting the direction and drive for the development of the organisation’s programmes and services.  Prior to her current portfolio, Joyce had also led other programmes in SPD including children services, adults and the elderly services as well as advocacy.

Joyce started out in her career as a social worker and worked on the ground to support people with disabilities. In the various roles that she subsequently held in the sector spanning close to 30 years, Joyce gained wide-ranging experience in areas such as direct social work, policymaking, service planning, programme management and advocacy. Her experience extends beyond disability to also include eldercare and the rehabilitation of ex-drug offenders as well.

Joyce served on a number of national committees including the Early Intervention and Education Sub-Committee of the Enabling Masterplan 2006, the Review Board (Children and Young Persons Homes) from 2013 to 2015, Board of Visitors (Women’s Charter) from 2015 – 2017 and the Land Transport Master Plan Advisory Panel in 2019.  She is currently a member of the Land Transport Authority’s Active Mobility Advisory Panel.

Joyce holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and has a graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.
