Singapore, 14 September 2001 – There is a chance for you now to have your car washed by some of your favourite TV stars and Radio DJs like Vivian Lai Yi Ling, Lin Weiwen, Zhang Zengxiang, Zhang Yaodong, Sharon Lee, Le Yao, Joey Swee, Liao Yunyi, Joey Ng, Hu Wensui, Shi Bin, Alan Tern and Juliet. Just come on down to selected BP service stations on 15 September, 16 September, 29 September and 30 September. The celebrities are “sweating out” to raise more funds for The Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD).

BP Singapore is donating all the proceeds from its car wash from eight selected service stations (please see appendix I for the list) on 15 September, 16 September, 29 September and 30 September.

To spice things up and rally for more support and monies for SPD, celebrities from Capital Radio 95.8FM and MediaCorp TV 8 will be going down to the eight selected service stations to help out in the charity car wash.

Mr Koh Nai Teck, President of SPD, remarked: “Voluntary Welfare Organisations rely on the support of individuals, corporations and the community to raise funds. And we are grateful to BP Singapore for generously donating all the proceeds from the car wash to SPD. We are also very grateful to the artistes and DJs of MediaCorp TV and Radio for their time and extreme hard work.’

BP’s Regional Marketing Manager for South East Asia Fuels, Downstream, Mr Jason Fong said, “This charity drive is a very good opportunity for car-owners to do their bit for charity in the most convenient way. BP Singapore is happy to be able to play a catalyst role to make this happen and contribute to the community that we operate in.”

Each car wash is $5.00. Car owners who are unable to participate in the charity car wash over the four weekends could still do their part by donating loose change through the donation boxes which will be placed at all BP service stations till 31 October.
