Moza's Splash of Inspiration:
Navigating School, Dreams, and Beyond

Moza is a spirited 12-year-old who recently completed her PSLE examinations. Behind her cheerful spirit and love for sweet and savory treats lies a resilient and determined young lady who aims to break barriers and inspire others.

Moza’s journey has been shaped by a condition known as amniotic band syndrome, which hindered the growth of her right hand. Yet, this hasn’t dimmed her enthusiasm for learning or her joyous approach to life.

School, for Moza, is more than just a place of learning – it’s a canvas for friendship and collaboration.  Her friends recognises her for who she is and have created a supportive environment where Moza’s disability doesn’t define her. In fact, far from needing assistance, Moza’s meticulous and artistic note-taking skills have turned her into the go-to person for notes in class.

Navigating curious stares is not unusual for Moza, especially from younger students meeting her for the first time. Unfazed by this attention, Moza approaches it with openness, considering it a part of her identity and sees it as an opportunity to share more about her condition.

Sometimes, her playful spirit comes to light when she weaves tales about her arm dropping off due to a vegetable deficiency. The result? Her juniors adopting healthier eating habits, just to be on the safe side.

Peering into the future, Moza dreams big. She wants to represent Singapore in the Paralympics for swimming—not just once, but twice. Her ultimate goal? Bringing home a gold medal for her beloved country. Moza’s decision to be part of UNLABEL stems from a desire to spread encouragement and support to others with disabilities. By sharing her story, she hopes to inspire individuals to pursue their dreams regardless of how others may perceive them. Moza’s journey is a testament to optimism, and the belief that with the right spirit, anyone can make a splash in the pool and in life.
