Clients of SPD were treated to a rousing performance of English, Mandarin and Malay favourites by musicians from the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) who performed at SPD on 11 May as part of the SCO Caring Series 2016 sponsored by Tan Chin Tuan Foundation.

The SCO Caring Series, started in 2007, aims to benefit patients and healthcare personnel with a musical healing touch and to offer them an opportunity to appreciate the arts through this series.

Everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly, many clients singing along with gusto to familiar tunes such as ‘Di Tanjong Katong’, ‘月亮代表我的心’ and ‘Top of the World’ played from classical instruments. The hour-long performance ended with the SCO obliging the audience with an encore, playing the requested ‘Chan Mali Chan’ to the delight of all.
