It was Organisational Excellence Day, Staff Day and Appreciation Dinner all rolled into one as SPD staff from all three centres gathered at the SPD Ability Centre on 24 January for the annual get-together

As part of the organisation’s constant drive towards excellence, a call for the different divisions to submit a WITS (Work Improvement Team Scheme) project was initiated by the management late last year. At the Staff Day, four teams from Community Partnerships, Corporate Services, Rehabilitation Services and Technology & Vocational Training presented their WITS projects to all staff and shared what they have implemented to improve efficiency and deliver higher quality in their divisions.

We thank our colleagues from Jurong who organised the morning activities, including a series of games aimed at fostering closer ties among staff.

It was Staff Day in the morning and Staff Appreciation Dinner in the evening. Held at Traders Hotel to the theme of ‘Around the World’, the dinner was organised to recognise staff’s contribution and hard work in the year. It was an enjoyable evening as many came dressed up to show the different cultures in the world.

Henry Chow, affectionately known to many at SPD as “Uncle Henry” from the Corporate Services division, received a long service award given in recognition of his 15 years at SPD.

“It has been a good 15 years and I thank the organisation for the award,” said Henry.
