Made up of volunteers and professionals in their own fields, members in SPD’s Board of Management give of their time and expertise selflessly to advance the interest and welfare of people with disabilities. Many of our Board members are long-time volunteers and we are very happy that Ms Poh Hwee Hian was presented with the Long Service Award for Voluntary Welfare Organisation volunteers from the National Council of Social Service. The award recognises those who have rendered services to the social service sector for five to 40 years and more. For Ms Poh, it was for a decade of invaluable contribution to and in support of SPD.

Ms Poh has been a member and volunteer of SPD since April 1998 and was elected to the Board of Management in 2004 where she has since been contributing actively to the growth of the organisation. With 18 years of experience in sales, marketing and general management today, Ms Poh is currently the Honorary Treasurer, a key position she has held since 2012, given her proven record and understanding of the social service sector which is gleaned from her many years in the sector.

We take this opportunity to thank Ms Poh again for her efforts and look forward to more years in partnership with her in helping people with disabilities break barriers and unlock potentials.
