The SPD Ability Walk & Run 2019 returns to the Singapore River on Sunday 1 September with a host of activities for everyone in the family.
Besides the 3km walk, a new 5km run component has been added for participants keen on running along the banks of the Singapore River.
The touted go-to fun walk and run for all ages and abilities, participants will learn more about the challenges that persons with different disabilities go through every day through interesting games and activities along the route and at the carnival grounds.
These disability simulation activities continue to be a mainstay in every edition of the SPD Ability Walk & Run to encourage experiential learning and increase greater understanding of the challenges that people with disabilities face.
Obstacle courses involving a 3-legged walk and completing a segment of the walk blindfolded will be incorporated into the route. Wheelchair basketball and obstacle course, as well as conversations in the dark are some of the other activities that participants can look forward to.
