Building Bridges EIPIC Centre celebrated National Day early on 5 August at both SPD Ability Centre and the Jurong branch. The children and their parents, all decked in red and white, gathered at the two centres for the half-day celebration that was organised by the teachers.

The celebration started with everyone gathering to sing the national anthem and thereafter to recite the national pledge.

After getting everyone more familiar with Singapore, there were craft activities as well as games before everyone tucked in to the refreshments.

“We took the opportunity to share with the children more about Singapore on this celebratory occasion. We made this learning experience fun and interesting and are happy to see the children showing such enthusiasm,” said Ms Yvonne Chew, senior EIPIC teacher.

It was a sea of red and white as staff and clients at the SPD Ability Centre in Tiong Bahru gathered in front of the building to participate in the National Day Observance Ceremony on 7 August. After the national anthem was sung, Lai Fong Lin from the Production Workshop and Anthony Low from Shared Services led the national pledge recital.
